After dinner last night, I was having a huge sweet tooth craving; I really wanted something sweet and delicious. So this morning, after making a fruit tart, I decided to indulge in my sweet tooth craving and make some good ole fashion chocolate chip cookies!
Bake Time: 10 minutes
Yields: 2 dozen
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
2 sticks unsalted butter, room temperature
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 cup packed light-brown sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
2 large eggs
2 cups semisweet and milk chocolate chips mix
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda and set aside. In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, combine the butter with the granulated sugar and brown sugar. Beat on medium speed until light and fluffy. Reduce speed to low and add the salt, vanilla, and eggs. Beat until well mixed. Add flour mixture and mix until just combined. Stir in the chocolate chips and mix well.
Drop golf ball-size balls of dough about 2 inches apart on baking sheets lined with parchment paper. Bake until cookies are golden around the edges, but still soft in the center, 8 to 10 minutes. Remove from the oven, and let cool on the baking sheet for about 1 to 2 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack, and let cool completely.
The cookies are slightly crunchy around the edge, while still soft and chewy. I do prefer my cookies with a chewier consistency. And nothing beats straight out of the oven cookies, with the warm ooey goey chocolate chips. I’m so glad I indulged and satisfied my sweet tooth craving.
